Dr. Loven began private practice in 1988. In January 1995, the practice opened our Goodlettsville office, originally Rivergate Dermatology and Skin Care Center, now Loven Dermatology. He received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University Medical School and is board-certified by The American Board of Dermatology.
Dr. Loven provides general, surgical and cosmetic dermatological services. He oversees our Psoriasis Center and our Clinical Research Division. He and his wife, Leslie, have two daughters, Leah and Bethany.
Dr. James Griffith is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. Dr. Griffith’s special interests include Mohs micrographic surgery, facial reconstruction, surgical management of melanoma, scar rehabilitation and cosmetic dermatology.
He earned his undergraduate degree from University of Colorado and a master's degree in biology at Mississippi College. After teaching as an adjunct professor and conducting research, he enrolled in the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He then completed a residency in dermatology and a fellowship in clinical research, lasers and photomedicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Griffith also completed a second fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology, specializing in facial and aesthetic reconstructive surgery. Dr. Griffith is a native Tennessean who grew up in Nashville. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Anne, and son, Tyler.
Ray joined our practice in September 2004, as a Physician Assistant. He received a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in December 1999 followed by his certification from The National Certification of Physician Assistants in November 2003.
Ray provides general dermatological services and minor procedures under the guidance of our physicians. He and his wife, Susan, reside in Clarksville.
Alexis began with Loven Dermatology in November 2019. She provides a wide range of dermatological services and minor surgical procedures under the guidance of physicians. She practices at our Rivergate, Gallatin, and Hendersonville locations. She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition. She then moved to Nashville to attend Trevecca Nazarene University and graduated in 2018 with her Master of Science degree in Medicine and is certified as a physician assistant through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Originally from Knoxville, Alexis lives in Nashville with her husband Chase and her dog, June.
Brandon began with Loven Dermatology in August 2017. He attended Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee earning his Masters in Science Medicine degree in July 2015 followed by his Physician Assistant Certification, September 2015, through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Brandon provides a wide range of dermatological services as well as minor surgical procedures under the guidance of the physicians. Brandon lives in Hendersonville with his two children, Layla and Mason.
Peggy has been with Rivergate Dermatology Research Center for over nineteen years and has been in the medical field since 1979. Peggy worked in the Critical Care Unit at Sumner Regional Medical Center for twelve years prior to joining our team in 1998.
Peggy is a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator who manages the clinical research center and the Psoriasis Center. Peggy is responsible for research subject care, assists with study procedures, drug accountability, maintaining regulatory affairs as well as educating and treating patients with biologic drugs for psoriasis.
Sally has been in the medical field for twelve years as a medical assistant and phlebotomist. She has been with Loven Dermatology for two years and specializes in research subject care, research assisting, light treatments, and educating along with treating patients using biologic drugs for psoriasis.
Sally also manages the care of patients with acne who are taking the medication Accutane.
DIRECTOR OF AESTHETICS
Helen Gaye joined Loven Dermatology + Aesthetics in 2020 as Director of Aesthetics where she does facials and advanced skincare as well as guide the Aesthetics team. Helen Gaye is a licensed aesthetician who has been in the business of skincare for more than 20 years. Her passion for all things skin began in retail skincare and cosmetics where she was owner of a spa and skincare boutique, a make-up artist, and a regional sales manager.
She graduated from Tennessee College of Applied Technology and became a licensed aesthetician in 2014. Since then, she’s worked in medical aesthetics.
Helen Gaye has two children, two grandchildren, and lives in East Nashville with her husband and their labradoodle, Archibald.
Lexie joined Loven Dermatology + Aesthetics in October of 2019 as an aesthetic nurse specializing in injectables. She enjoys helping patients feel confident in their own skin and enhancing their natural beauty with the use of Botox, filler, lasers, and microneedling.
Lexie graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. In addition to her work with Loven, she has also worked as a nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for the last five years. She loves spending time with her husband and two boys, but when she’s not spending time with them, she loves buying too much stuff from Amazon.
Anna has been with Loven Dermatology + Aesthetics since November of 2020. She provides many services including injectables, laser resurfacing, microneedling, and fractional radio frequency treatments. Prior to joining Loven, she has spent five years in emergency, trauma and ICU nursing and she is a certified emergency nurse (CEN). She been in graduate school since 2017 pursuing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP), which she will obtain in May 2022, at which point, she will be qualified to provide even more advanced treatments as a nurse practitioner.
Anna earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2015 from Shorter University in Rome, Georgia. Anna lives in East Nashville with her husband Dan and their two dogs, Tucker and Trout.
